Pediatric Candidial Liver Microabscesses

  • Etiology: Candida infection in immune suppressed patient affecting lungs, liver, spleen, kidneys
  • Imaging CT: Tiny pulmonary nodules, low density lesions in liver or spleen or kidneys
  • DDX: If microabscesses seen in immune competent patient think of cat-scratch disease due to Bartonella henselae
  • Complications:
  • Treatment: Antifungal therapy
