Pediatric Dacryoadenitis

  • Etiology: Inflammation of lacrimal gland due to infectious or inflammatory causes
  • Imaging CT: Enlargement of lacrimal gland in superolateral orbit
  • DDX:
  • Complications:
  • Treatment: Antibiotics and supportive care
  • Clinical:
    — Presents as discomfort or pain in the superolateral orbit where lacrimal gland is located
    — May have swelling and redness and dry eye due to impairment of lacrimal gland
