- Etiology: abnormal budding of gastrointestinal tract lined with GI epithelium, may communicate with enteric lumen proper
- US: cystic lesion with echogenic rim sign = enteric signature = hyperechoic inner layer of cyst representing bowel mucosa
- Tc-pertechnetate scan: may contain gastric mucosa so may be visible
- Clinical: commonest location of enteric duplication (35%)
