Pediatric Patella Fracture
Etiology: Trauma
Imaging Radiograph Patellar Sleeve Avulsion Fracture: — Unique fractures in preteens and teens caused by the relatively higher strength of the patellar tendon compared to the patell — Associated with femoral trochlea dysplasia — Findings are patella alta and bone fragment and donor site from inferior patella while joint effusion doesn’t always occur.
Note: Dorsal patellar defect is a benign defect in the superolateral patella

Radiology Cases of Patella Fracture
Lateral radiograph of the knee shows an avulsion fracture of the superior pole of the patella. There is a large suprapatellar joint effusion.
