Etiology: Organism is a yeast-like fungus that affects immunocompromised host such as HIV or malignancy
Imaging CXR: Can look like anything on CXR
Imaging CT: — Diffuse ground glass opacity and interlobular septal thickening — May have cystic spaces and bullae — Pleural effusion rare

Radiology Cases of Pneumocystis Jiroveci Pneumonia
CXR AP shows bilaterally diffuse, symmetrical, fine reticular infiltrates.Axial CT with contrast of the chest shows diffuse ground glass opacities throughout the lungs and interlobular septal thickening. Very small lung nodules are also seen.
