Pyriform Aperture Stenosis
Etiology: Maldevelopment of inferior maxilla due to early fusion and hypertrophy of medial nasal processes
Imaging CT: — Axial images should be reformatted to be parallel to the plane of the anterior hard palate — Narrowing of pyriform aperture — Stenosis results in loss of normal pyramidal shape of nasal fossa — Central megaincisor is frequently seen

Clinical: — Presents with failure to pass nasogastric tube — May be isolated or a component of other mid-facial maldevelopment or accompanied by holoprosencephaly
Radiology Cases of Pyriform Aperture Stenosis
Axial CT without contrast of the face shows narrowing of the pyriform apertures bilaterally.
