Swyer James Syndrome

  • Etiology: Adenovirus pneumonia causes bronchi and bronchiole scarring
  • Imaging:
    — Lung is small and hyperlucent due to decreased pulmonary blood volume due to bronchiole damage
    — Normal pulmonary venous drainage
    — Pruned bronchial tree
  • Imaging V/Q scan: Decreased ventilation and perfusion
