Etiology: Blunt trauma against closed glottis or AP compression of chest causes tear in trachea or carina or mainstem bronchus close to carina
Imaging CXR:
— Pneumomediastinum
— Massive air leak
— Unrelenting pneumothorax
Imaging CT:
— Tear in trachea or carina or mainstem bronchus close to carina
— Fallen lung sign
DDX:
Complications:
Treatment: Surgical
Clinical: Little improvement im imaging appearance after chest tube
