- Patient preparation: none
- Contrast used: high osmolar water soluble
- Technique: access tube, inject 10 – 25 cc of contrast
- Images to obtain: scout AXR, AP image of cecum and ascending colon
- Looking for: is contrast and thus cecostomy tube tip in cecum or is contrast extravasated outside of colon and thus cecostomy tube tip is outside of colon
- Post procedure tasks: flush tube
