  • Patient preparation: full bladder (clamp Foley)
  • Contrast used: none
  • Technique: begin with transabdominal exam, consider transvaginal exam in older patient
  • Images to obtain: transverse and sagittal grayscale images of uterus and ovaries and bladder, color and spectral doppler images of ovaries
  • Looking for: ovarian cyst, ovarian mass, ovarian torsion, uterine mass, intrauterine pregnancy, extra-uterine pregnancy, free fluid
