- Technique: scan entire thyroid gland and the surrounding neck looking for lymphadenopathy
- Images to obtain: transverse and sagittal grayscale images of both lobes of the thyroid and the thyroid isthmus and any abnormal lymph nodes seen, color doppler images of any abnormalities noted
- Looking for: thyroid nodules, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Grave’s disease
